Five Things You Should Know

How to Maintain Emotional Intelligence and Positive Thinking in the Ballet World

Deborah sets forth with help for you, the would-be ballerina or male ballet dancer, to gain more understanding and control over the demanding world you live in.

Any student of music, writing, and performing of any kind, needs to know some survival techniques to maintain emotional intelligence, and stick with positive thinking. Every new class, with new exams, and fierce competitions, can instigate implosions of self-doubts. How do you take command of your mental and emotional space before that important event? Or so you can sleep well every night?

Deborah designed this book so that teens and pre-teens could discover that there is a way to begin a dialogue about self-sabotaging beliefs and thoughts that so influence their patterns of behavior and success. This 48 page book introduces eight teens with common problems and challenges such as how to take charge of your feelings and how to perform like a pro in the dance studio or anywhere and everywhere. You will learn techniques such as Mental Rehearsing, Creating a Feeling, Refocusing and a very powerful Acting as If. These fun (but seriously amazing) activities will help to train your brain - whether a teen or an adult late starter in ballet - towards success.

As a ballet teacher, I've always recommended to students to look outside the dance classes for ways to help manage their frustrations, fears and struggles with the competitive and perfectionist aspects of the performing arts. I think that private and independent study is best for people - contemplation with direction, and applying uplifting creative techniques to maintain a positive perspective, in one's own way.

That in itself is the challenge - finding one's own way. "Train Your Brain: A Teen's Guide To Well Being" is a wonderful first step on that path.

Tough Times? Shine the Light on Them

There is no doubt these are tough times economically, globally and personally.

How does one handle "tough times"?

Are you like the ostrich and hide your head in the sand and pretend like nothing is happening?

Or are you like the rhinoceros charging through and knocking down anything in its way?

I invite you to become like the eagle and soar through and above them.

Think of it like this. You're at home and the power goes out and you're in the dark.
You get a flashlight or some candles and now the darkness has been illuminated and you are able to see again. Yes, there are some shadows still lurking, but the moment you shine the light on them you can see what the shadows are.

It's no different during "tough times". All one needs to do is turn the light on. Question your thoughts around the challenge you are having, face the fear head on, and reap the benefits as it dissipates in the light.

You are the very answer to the "tough times". You can light the way not just for yourself but for others also.

Robert Schuller's saying of, "Tough Times Don't Last but Tough People Do", holds much truth.

How we handle those days, weeks, months or even years of what seem like the worst of the worst is what can make or break us.

Whether you choose to be like the ostrich, rhinoceros or the eagle, "tough times" will be there and it is up to you how you will handle them.

When they are over, will you still have your head in the sand? Will you be charging through so fast and furiously you won't even see that they are over? Or will you be soaring through and above them?

The choice is yours. "Tough Times"? Shine the light on them.

5 Ways to Quit Smoking

The smoking is dangerous to health, many of the experts says that the smoke is more harmful than the nicotine. There are more than 40 chemicals which are found in the cigarette smoke. Some of them are very dangerous as Benzene (used as a petrol additive), Formaldehyde (it is an embalming fluid), Ammonia (used as a toilet cleaner), Acetone (contained in nail polish remover) and many more. These chemicals are very harmful for the body and health.

So, If you want to quit smoking then I think these 40 chemicals should give you 40 reasons to quit smoking. If you will think that you are inhaling a toilet cleaner (ammonia) with the smoke of the cigarette then it will help you to quit smoking. Think about bad effects of the smoking and start following practices on the daily basis. I am sure if you will apply these things in your routine then you will be able to save your health and life by quiting smoking.

1. Start The Day With Positive Thinking: The people who wants to quit smoking they must always thinking about it. Some of the people think that they can not quit smoking so they fail in the attempt of it. Start your day with a positive thinking as "I can quit smoking". This thinking will keep energize you whole day. As possible you should avoid the presence of any smoker because the presence of any smoker at your work place may deviate your attention towards quit smoking.

2.Use Healthy Diet (Such as Fruits) on Regular Basis: If your diet will be good and healthy then it may help you to quit smoking. Take a healthy meal and some of the fruits which can neglect the previous harms by smoking. Use fruits in your diet, juice and the products with more liquid may help you. Eating fruit like apple, carrot, sticks, celery, etc. may lower the harms by the cigarette. You may go for the vitamin C- rich foods because they contain more antioxidants.

3. Keep away from Liquor and Coffee: Liquor and coffee are liquid but it dose not mean that you should use it. The liquor lower the water level inside the body and it can throw your mind towards the smoking. Same with the coffee, It contains caffeine some times it helps in quit smoking (If you want to smoke then take cup of coffee, it will kill your temptation towards the smoking) but, if you will take the coffee in the large amount then it will harm you more than the cigarette.

4. Take More liquid During Day: If you want to smoke then drink one liter of water, you will see that you have no need to smoke that time. And also when you take more liquid it will help to quit out the nicotine from your body.

5. Get Exercising and Look Fit : Exercise is always helpful your body and health. If you will exercise everyday them some of the nicotine will also out from body with the sweat. If you exercise in morning it will also keep you energize whole day and help you in quit smoking.

I thinks there are many smokers who want to quit smoking but due to not proper guidance and "will power" they fail to do so. If you have a great eager to quit smoking then you will quit smoking with a strong will power.

Lessons for Life: How to be Humble

Lessons for Life: How to be Humble

Our culture says that humility is a virtue.

However, we often fail to apply the concept in our own lives.

Some of us look for aggressiveness in our children. We think that it will help them to succeed in life. It also will make you proud when your son scores a touchdown or makes the All State debate team.

But have you noticed that some of the greatest athletes are humble, that some of the greatest intellects are humble, and that some of the greatest leaders are humble?

What! Your culture doesnt say that humility is a virtue?

Try this if you are Jewish or Christian:

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chr. 7:14

Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. Prov. 16: 19

And the mean man shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled:
Isa. 5: 15

Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Matt. 18: 4

And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted. Matt. 23: 12

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. James 4: 10

Here is one from the Koran:

Surely (as to) those who believe and do good and humble themselves to their Lord, these are the dwellers of the garden, in it they will abide. The Holy Prophet 11.23

Go to http://www.unification.net/ws/theme128.htm to study what the worlds religions say about humility and being humble.

Here is a Native American tradition:

The Lamenter [who is seeking a vision] cries, for he is humbling himself,
remembering his nothingness in the presence of the Great Spirit.
Native American Religions. Black Elk, Sioux Tradition

Here is a Mormon scripture:

Be thou humble; and the Lord thy God shall lead thee by the hand, and give thee answer to thy prayers. D&C 112:10

There is something about being a benevolent and humble person that exceeds the expectations of the angry core of our crocodilian being. We have that great urge to survive, to remove or run from threats, to grab food wherever we can find it, to reproduce, to fight when bored, to grovel in our minds.

When we find a humble person eager to share what he or she has, we are surprised and then pleased.

Why do I combine benevolence with humility? Because they go hand-in-hand dont they? A humble person gives his or her soul to God and serves others not expecting any earthly reward.

Here is an opinion that Ive had for many years: The most effective leaders and the best leaders are benevolent. This applies to religious leaders, of course, but it equally applies to business executives.

Does being humble drop your self esteem?

I dont think so. It simply places you in the scheme of things now and in the hereafter. You no longer have to think of yourself being the brightest, cleverest, strongest, best looking person in the world.

If you are rich it will diminish the fact and you will become more benevolent. You will seek wisdom more than riches and you will govern your affairs with dignity and honor.

A humble person can take bad luck much better than a person less humble.

I have noticed over the years that people from poor straights can take a loss better than a more wealthy person or a person of higher social status. They expect bad luck and they can cope with it.

Humility is the beginning of knowledge.

If you say that you know nothing about the fauna of Egypt but would like to know about it, you are on your way to gaining knowledge. You will feed your mind and you will be grateful for that knowledge and you will seek more knowledge.

If you say that you know nothing about a subject and you have no desire to learn more because you are afraid that you might not understand the knowledge you receive, you will be miserable if you dont even try to gain such knowledge. You are suffering from low esteem not humility. A humble person says that one will do the best one can to learn.

A humble person will do what he can to serve others.

A humble person will search for wisdom.

A humble person will be grateful for all he receives.

A humble person will recognize that he knows little but can learn much more.

A humble person will not be aggressive to others.

A humble person will take care of his family and give them support in all that they do.

A humble person will love God and recognize that God will lead him to truth and knowledge.

The End

What is ESP - Extra Sensory Perceptions

Extra sensory perception and/or reception are a metaphysical term used to cover all events and abilities which happens outside scientific knowledge. ESP is sometimes called PSI (parapsychology scientific investigation) some refer this as mind powers where as others simply refer it as spiritual dimensions. This subject covers a broad range of events. Such as clairvoyance, premonitory dreams, deja vu, telepathy, psychic ability. So let's investigate the meaning of each of the terms above that make up part of this field of extra sensory perception.

Clairvoyance: This word originates from language "Clair" meaning clear and "Voyance" meaning visibility. This is a psychic ability to gain information about a location, object, or physical event through means other than the known human senses. The use of this psychic ability is ancient and was around before the French term was introduced. Throughout history clairvoyance has guided masses of people from nobility to ordinary folk. Christian bible also documents many clairvoyant prophecies. Sometime a trance like state in necessary condition to evoke this ability where as other times it can be activated at will, and strangely sometimes it will happen without prior knowledge.

Premonitory Dreams: this intuition has had its fascination from all walks of life, it is seen a dream that leaves a very strong feeling that something bad is going to happen, it is seen as a warning message, giving the dreamer a warning through dreams. And I am sure you have read or watch shows where people with these dreams actually stopping others from taking a plane trip later finding out the very same plane in dream has crashed. This extra sensory perception is seen quite remarkable and very hard to prove the realness for a scientific community. And strangely in some cultures around the world dream state is actually considered to be a divination, it is believed that dream state is for spiritual guidance giving us messages of highest order. Yet there are countless stories of people having dreams and later finding out the visions seen in the dream actually happens.

Deja vu: Once again this is a French term meaning already seen describing the sensation of being certain that one has experienced or witnessed new situation previously. This is also very common psychic event. Many of us have felt this within our lives. Sometimes we visit a place that we are 100% certain we never been there before, yet the feeling and the detail of the scenes around us make us doubt our own reason and logic.

Telepathy: This word actually originates from Greek term "tele" meaning distant and "pathe" meaning to feel from a far. This ability describes how a mind can communicate with other minds without any outside assistance. This extra sensory perception also occurs in one point or another in our lives. Example being have you ever had a strong thought of family member or a close friend, then suddenly phone rings or there is a knock on the door, this is a form telepathic experience.

Psychic ability: term psychic also originate from Greek term "psychikos" meaning of the soul, it refers to the ability to identify things unseen from the ordinary senses. This ability also falls in to the category of ESP "extra-sensory perception". Psychic ability is well known to spiritually minded people. Everybody is capable of developing and using psychic abilities, yet only few people choose to expand in this area of sensory perception. And a psychic giving psychic readings using their sensory ability is a well known event. It is an ability that awakens when a person develops and expands their awareness of life nature and spiritual dimensions. Some people regard psychic as a new age phenomenon, yet when we study our recorded history we come to find there was many psychic diviners giving psychic readings.

Most people believe in extra sensory perceptions, and they also say that they have had experience involving ESP. If we look at life with an open mind there are many unexplainable events also occurrences, one needs to allow their theories with a neutral view point to find out if extra sensory perceptions can be used at will.

Predictions For the Conclusion of 2008

The Prophetic pace is quickening. The momentum of Prophetic fulfilment is surging forward as Heaven comes into earth. There will be very important supernatural releases of power as we close out 2008. In this article I want to highlight some of those events that will affect those with listening ears and responsive hearts. This is what I see occurring during October, November and December.

God is releasing a calling and the ability for spiritual mentoring. Spiritual fathers and mothers will be prompted and released by God into a new season of nurturing others in their spiritual walk. This calling will not be age focused but will come to young and old. This ability will supernaturally infuse many with wisdom, love and character to help others in their journey into the supernatural Presence of God.

God is releasing a new level of authority and love to help others. Many that once were wounded in their heart, soul and emotions will arise to new levels of restoration. Out of what were once deep wounds will flow love and authority to heal and restore others in their pain and defeat.

God is releasing resolve to persist in faith. Faith is being tempered and strengthened. Faith is also being refined and made pure.

The last of 2008 will be days of revelation. Many will receive significant directional dreams and visions. These will define and set in motion the destiny God has for churches, ministries and individuals. It will be a time of dreaming the dreams of God and seeing what God sees.

A new level of preciseness is being released into prayer and intercession. True intercession will blend with the Prophetic Seer Anointing. This blend will not focus on evil dark forces but on a higher level of seeing God's plans and spiritually birthing those plans into the natural.

The barrier of restraint placed on many will be removed. The barriers being removed are the collective disappointments, betrayals, confusion, heart wounds and other human weaknesses. These experiences have created barriers against progress into destiny. However, like a sea wall being breached by a hurricane tidal surge so God will release great power to take many past the things that have held them back.

Many will arise like Golden Vessels out of the ashes. Many have seen their hopes, dreams and circumstances collapse and turn to ashes at their feet. God is restoring those things that have fallen.

The things ordained by God will flourish. The supernatural works of God will flourish. Works of restoration, salvation, deliverance and harvest will increase. Supernatural healing and miracles will increase. Supernatural events where Heavenly things come into earth will increase. God's agenda is bigger than ours so run with Him in the supernatural strength He provides. Do not miss what He is setting in motion.
